LCMSterps -- Sign Language Interpreters & Interpreted Ministries

About LCMSterps
LCMSterps has been created to give those who serve in Lutheran interpreted ministries an opportunity to become better acquainted with each other and to discuss issues of mutual concern relating to interpreted ministries. This is a forum where church interpreters and pastors can raise questions regarding language, culture, ethics, and technical aspects of serving deaf people in a hearing church.

LCMSterps is intended for

(1)  Sign Language interpreters who serve in Lutheran congregations,
(2) pastors and staff of Lutheran churches which have interpreted ministries,
(3) deaf people who participate in the worship life of a Lutheran congregation with the aid of Interpreters,
(4) alumni of the Church Interpreter Training Institute (CITI), based at Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne,  Indiana,
(5) students of American Sign Language who want to learn more about issues that relate to church interpreting.
